Q2 What do you do as a freelancer?

Graphic design, specialising in branding for start ups and illustration. I have also just started to delve into website design and build.

Q3 How long have you been doing it for?

5 years

Q4 What inspired you to become a freelancer?

I wanted to illustrate my own kids book. But once I studied design I feel in love with it and then people started asking for help and then it grew from there. I haven’t gotten back into my kids book but know one day it will happen.

Q5 What do you think the benefits of being a freelancer are?

Picking your own hours and working on a variety of different projects.

Q6 What are the biggest challenges you think freelancers face at the moment?

Having consistency in clients. Self promoting whilst also working on tight deadlines. Hard to juggle all the things.

Q7 What do you think is the best resource you have found to use as a freelancer?

Ummmmm. A lot of things. Toby Chrome extension to organise my browsers. Domestika – Online Courses for mentorship and to continue to learn.

Q8 What one piece of advice would you give to other/aspiring freelancers?

Be strong, and create firm boundaries with clients. Know your own limits so you don’t burn out.

Q9 What is your favourite project you have ever worked on?

Maybe passion projects whilst I was studying. There wasn’t any money attached to it and I could just explore. It was also in a team environment which I thrive in.
