Q2 What do you do as a freelancer?
The job title that sums me up best is Brand Design Director. I work on creating brand systems and I do lots of guidelines. I do everything from concept and strategy through to global approvals and solutions, via design, typography, colourwork etc.

Professionally about 19 years
Q4 What inspired you to become a freelancer?
It was the opportunity to be involved in a wide scope of projects in many kinds of businesses.
Q5 What do you think the benefits of being a freelancer are?
The opportunity to work on different projects with different people. Debility to pick and choose projects. Slightly better pay rates (it all evens out).
Q6 What are the biggest challenges you think freelancers face at the moment?
The usual. Lack of stability being the main challenge.
Q7 What do you think is the best resource you have found to use as a freelancer?
An accountant
Q8 What one piece of advice would you give to other/aspiring freelancers?
Know that there are places you will fit and places you won’t. You can be doing the best work but not be a ‘culture fit’ for some places.
Q9 What is your favourite project you have ever worked on?
As a freelancer? Helping design Gucci’s Chime For Change at Mother in London. Brilliant design team. Amazing place to work. Great project.
